SimpleLab Microplastics Water Test Kits
The SimpleLab Microplastics Water Test Kit is a cutting-edge solution designed to detect the presence of microplastic particles in drinking water. Microplastics, tiny plastic fragments less than 5mm in size, can enter water sources through pollution, industrial processes, and everyday plastic use, posing potential health risks.
Microplastics Water Test Kit
This test kit is right for you if you’re interested in knowing the concentration of microplastics in your drinking water, without needing to know the plastic-types. Utilizing a combination of optical microscopy, Nile red staining, and polarized light microscopy, your laboratory results will include detection of microplastic concentrations down to 1 micron.
Note: Methods for microplastics analysis are still developing and currently have many limitations. This test combines optical microscopy with Nile red staining and polarized light microscopy to get a higher accuracy count of microplastics than using any one method alone. Please note that relatively clean water samples, like drinking water, generally have very low concentrations of microplastics that are difficult to measure due to current methodological limitations. In addition, the smallest sizes of microplastics are typically the most difficult to detect but they are the most abundant.
For these reasons, this test should be viewed more as a screening test that is most effective at identifying larger particle sizes, rather than a definitive measure of all microplastics concentrations.
This Mail-to-Lab Kit Includes: All materials needed for sample collection, easy-to-follow instructions, chain of custody documentation, and a prepaid return label for seamless shipping to an accredited lab.
Lab Report: Reported results will include detailed analysis of microplastic particles between 1 micron (um) and 5 mm in size. Reporting will show the total concentration of microplastics at different size categories.
Important: This test kit is designed for drinking water (tap or bottled water) only and cannot be used to analyze marine or surface water.
Advanced Microplastics Water Test Kit
This kit is right for you if you’re interested in knowing the types of plastics in your drinking water and their concentration. Utilizing cutting-edge optical and polarized light microscopy alongside Raman spectroscopy for unparalleled accuracy, your laboratory results will include detection of microplastic concentrations down to 1 micron as well as polymer identification.
Note: Methods for microplastics analysis are still developing and currently have many limitations. This test combines optical microscopy with polarized light microscopy to get a higher accuracy count of microplastics at small particle sizes (1-10μm), as well as Raman spectroscopy which is accurate at identifying polymer types down to 10μm.
This Mail-to-Lab Kit Includes: All materials needed for sample collection, easy-to-follow instructions, chain of custody documentation, and a prepaid return label for seamless shipping to an accredited lab.
Lab Report: Reported results will include detailed analysis of microplastic particles between 1 micron (um) and 5 mm in size as well as polymer identification–for example polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, and polystyrene particles. Particles between 1 micron (μm) and 5 mm in size are quantified, and polymer types are identified for particles >10 μm.
Important: This test kit is designed for drinking water (tap or bottled water) only and cannot be used to analyze marine or surface water.
