Features

Ultrafiltration (UF)

What is UF? In the UF process, a fine membrane (.02 micron) partially addresses micro-organisms without wastewater to lower the Total Total Suspended Solids.

If you don’t have the additional RO membrane system, some TSS will be left behind. To eliminate a majority of TSS, a Reverse Osmosis membrane is suggested.

Reverse Osmosis (RO)

UltraFiltration acts as the pre-treatment for the next stage of the even finer RO Treatment. RO is a water purification technology that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove larger particles & an array of contaminants. Similar to UF, although RO uses a different membrane. When water goes through the RO Membrane, leftover water hardness & contaminants that are too big to go through the UF & RO membrane will wash out through your drain line.

(In the back of the water cooler, the system will connect to your kitchen drain for the wastewater.) The initial UF membrane is to help reduce the amount of Total Suspended Solids before the RO Treatment so less strain is put on the RO membrane.

Nitrate Removal Filter Cartridge (Optional)

Nitrate (NO3) comes into water supplies through the nitrogen cycle rather than via dissolved minerals. It is one of the major ions in natural waters. Most nitrate in drinking water is the result of contamination of groundwater supplies by septic systems, feedlots, and agricultural fertilizers.

Nitrate is reduced to nitrite in the body. These cartridges contain a special nitrate-selective resin. Nitrate reduction is 90% to 95% and breakthrough is not affected by sulfate levels.

Arsenic Removal Filter Cartridge (Optional)

Arsenic (As) is not easily dissolved in water. Therefore, if it is found in a water supply, it usually comes from mining, metallurgical operations or runoff from agricultural areas where materials containing arsenic were used as industrial poisons. Arsenic in water has no taste, odor or color.

Arsenic and phosphate easily substitute for one another chemically; therefore commercial grade phosphate can have some arsenic in it. Arsenic is highly toxic and has been classified by the EPA as a carcinogen. These cartridges contain an Arsenic-selective Resin specifically designed to filter Arsenic V and Arsenic III.

GAC Fluoride Reduction Filter Cartridge (Optional)

Bone char carbon is a unique carbonaceous adsorbent manufactured from the treatment and carbonization of selected grades of animal bone and is used for liquid phase filtration to remove organic and inorganic species such as colored bodies and many heavy metals. Bone char is different from activated carbon in that it contains both carbon surface area and hydroxyapatite lattice surface area.

Alkalize/Ionizer, Mineralizer & Oxidation Cartridge (Optional)

Alkalinity is a measure of the capacity of water to neutralize acids. Alkalinity is primarily due to the presence of bicarbonate, carbonate, and hydroxide ions. Alkalinity acts as a pH buffer to deactivate acidity.
