Crystal Quest® 5-Micron Carbon Block Cartridges are manufactured from an acid-washed coconut-carbon based formulation. Better tasting water is produced as carbon is used to its maximum advantage in minimizing pH levels while maintaining a low-pressure drop.

The blend of 2 types of coconut-shell GAC (Premium and Catalytic) is used to reduce chemicals such as chlorine (99.9%), chemicals linked to cancer (THM's, benzene) pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC's), PCB's, MTBE's and hundreds of other chemical contaminants that may be present in water causing bad taste and odors in your drinking water.

Next, we add in Eagle Redox Alloy® (6500) to reduce scale, bacteria, and algae, even in hot water. 

Lastly, a Support Quartz is the lower strata of a filter bed and acts to support the filter medium. The maximum efficiency, the support quartz must possess the necessary attributes of hardness and be rounded or non-angular. Correct gradation and sizing must be calculated to properly support the filter media.

Guardian Whole House Water Filter System: Additional Options

• Leak Detector Valve: Used to detect a water leak within a water filter system and shuts down the water supply to prevent flooding.
• 12 GPM UltraViolet Water Sterilizer: Specifically designed to meet the demanding microorganism control concern. These microorganisms can range from bacteria and viruses to algae and protozoa.
• Vacuum Breaker: Recommended to be installed inline ahead of water filter systems as a precaution against the rare occurrence of negative pressure (a vacuum) in the water line which can cause damage to the filter tanks and housings.
• Metered Valve: The systems come standard with a timer valve which runs the backwashing schedule on a set number of days. (For example, every 7 days). The metered valve will run the backwashing based on a set number of gallons. (For example, 3,000 gallons).
• Oxidation System: Utilizes ozone for efficient water oxidation, improving water quality.
